It is with great pleasure, and excitement we announce the partnership between Great Valley School District and Historic Sugartown Inc.  In September and October of 2005, all of GVSD third grade classes participated in our new educational program at Historic Sugartown Inc.  Through the Community Partnership between Historic Sugartown, Inc. and Great Valley School District, we were able to create an innovative, creative, educational and fun “field trip” to satisfy part of the history curriculum requirement.  And it is right here in our own backyard!  Most importantly, the kids loved it. In addition to touring the buildings, the students spent time activity room, where they were able to try on the authentic reproduction clothes of the mid 1800’s.

Restoration of the crossroads village began in the early 1980’s.  The buildings themselves are from the 18th and 19th centuries.  We have been able to restore 8 structures, one of which includes the original General Store of the village.  We have transformed it back to how it may have looked in the 1880’s, with it’s post office, counters and many items commonly available to the surrounding consumers, who were mainly farmers in those days.
