The William Garrett House

The most exacting restoration of all the Sugartown houses, this 2½-story, four-bay, three-room plan fieldstone dwelling was moved, intact, a distance of nearly a mile.  It has been meticulously transformed back to its 1805 appearance, when the young William Garrett, his wife, and their three children resided there.

Four exceptional tall-case clocks are on display in this dwelling.  These include two clocks made by Isaac Thomas, Willistown's most prolific clock maker; a Caleb Hibbard, Willistown clock; and a Benjamin Garrett clock, made in nearby East Goshen Township.  All are outstanding examples of work performed by Willistown craftsmen.
